Thank you to the parents and students who attended the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) Educational and job opportunities event on Sunday. The students received great information on scholarships, fellowship opportunities, study abroad, exchange programs, virtual and paid internships, DS Drone Defender C-UAS/HoloLens Armored Car information. They also were able to go inside the Mobile Tactical Operations Command Center. The families also had an opportunity to meet Gentry O. Smith, Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security, Lumbee Tribal Citizen Cassondra Searight and staff members and agents working in the field. Cassondra is from the Prospect Community. In 2021, she was named the first fulltime permanent Diversity and Inclusion Officer in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security Service.
