Thank you to the hundreds of people who pulled out your fishing poles and came out to fish this week at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center. It was a great week. Even today people didn’t let the rain stop them from fishing. Tribal Chairman Lowery also took his children fishing on Thursday. Here are 2 “Eating size” fish John Jr. caught; a Crappie and a Bream. Overall they caught 7 fish and released them back into the lake for others to enjoy.
The lake is open for fishing from 6 am till 8 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday 6 am till noon. There is a limit of eight fish. Bass Fish, you may only keep 4 lbs. or higher. Boats are allowed in the lake, but must be washed off at the washing station before entering the lake. No Jet Skis are allowed. Personal kayaks and canoes are allowed. The cost to fish is $3.00 with a Tribal Card and $5.00 without a Card. The cultural center is located on Terry Sanford Drive in Maxton, NC.
