Thank you to everyone who attended the Lumbee Tribe of N.C. State of the Tribe Address on Thursday. Lumbee Tribal Chairman John L. Lowery shared important information about the tribal budget, recent accomplishments and his goals and vision for the Lumbee People. He also honored former First Lady Diane Goins with an Eagle feather for her contributions to the Lumbee People and her community. Mrs. Diane is the widow of former Tribal Chairman Jimmy Goins. She wears many hats, but is probably best remembered for her role as an elementary school teacher.
