Residents in our Lumbee Tribe Housing (37-Stock) participated in Home Fire Prevention Workshops.

This week, residents living in our Lumbee Tribe of N.C. Housing (37-Stock) participated in Home Fire Prevention Workshops. The residents learned key fire prevention strategies such as making sure their smoke alarms are working properly, equipping their home with fire extinguishers, ensuring that matches and lighters are out-of-reach of children, as well as having two escape routes in place from every room in their home. Another important factor they learned is that you should get out of the home first and call 911 once safely outside. Children that were in attendance were also taught how to call on-site security and 911, in the case of emergencies.
