We Still Believe

Participants Needed for research study about health and federal recognition of the Lumbee People

Daiana Mendoza-Acost is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Public Policy. She is conducting a research study on the health outcomes and current federal recognition status of the Lumbee Tribe of NC.


If you are interested in participating, it will take about 30 minutes to an hour to compete the study. Please email daianam@email.unc.edu to participate in this study! Your insight will be beneficial in informing a greater community about what federal recognition could potentially do for the Lumbee People, when it comes to health status and outcomes.


There are no known risks involved in this research. Participation in this study is voluntary and no information from the interviews will be shared with anyone outside of the research team. No individual will be identified in any reports. There is no penalty of any kind for refusal to participate.
