Lumbee Tribe of N.C. kicks off our “Love your children, Love your Tribe” Campaign

Today the Lumbee Tribe of N.C. kicks off our “Love your children, Love your Tribe” Campaign. We want to encourage you to get those Lumbee Babies enrolled early. Sometimes with all the busy times of raising children and family duties, some may delegate enrollment to a task to take care of later. We hope you will see enrollment as important as other required documents such as their Social Security Cards, Birth certificate, etc. Spring is here. Lumbee Children across the region are scrambling to get their enrollment completed to prepare for this season of summer camps, graduation, the Lumbee Cords of Honor Ceremony, college scholarships and so much more. We want to make this process easier for our children.

Some families enroll their children soon after they are born. Did you know that when Lumbee Tribal Chairman John Lowery lived in Virginia in 2012, he drove his newborn son home to be enrolled, because of its importance to him? We take pride in our family trees. We hope you do too. Enroll your babies now.
