Lumbee Tribal Members, have you experienced discrimination in USDA farm lending? Section 22007 of the Inflation Reduction Act authorized $2.2 billion in financial assistance to farmers and ranchers who experienced discrimination in USDA Farm Loan Programs prior to January 1, 2021.
The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Department is sponsoring a workshop on the USDA Grant on Saturday, October 28, from 10 am till 2 pm at the Lumbee Lodge at Philadelphus, 2715 Philadelphus Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372. Anyone who was denied the KeepsEagle Grant is encouraged to apply. Any farmers or their children who were denied funding from local farming funding institutions are also encouraged to apply. Participation is limited to 25 people. (Refreshments will be served)
