Lumbee Cultural Workshop Series Participants Dance, Drum and Make Pinecone Patchwork

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Lumbee Cultural Workshop Series on Monday. It was a good time of fellowship and cultural sharing. Thank you to Lumbee Artist Hayes Allen Locklear for sharing of his Pinecone Patchwork knowledge, while teaching participants how to make a Pinecone Patchwork ornament. Thank you parents for bringing out your children to learn about Lumbee Culture. If you were unable to make this workshop, we are planning to host a similar Pinecone Patchwork workshop in the fall. Also thank you to parents who brought food to bless everyone.

These workshops are held every Monday of each month (excluding holidays). They are open to all ages and are free. Each month will focus on a new topic / skill. Registration is not required for the dancing and drumming workshop. The location for the series next Monday will be at the Pembroke Boys & Girls Club on Highway 711 in Pembroke. It is located behind the Lumbee Tribal Housing Complex.
