In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our Lumbee Tribal Staff dressed in Pink to support those who are fighting, lift up the survivors as well as remember all who are impacted by breast cancer. Our First Lady Mrs. Sheila Godwin is a survivor. She recently decided to make a Lumbee Doll that had cancer. This is her second one in a series, which are completely hand-stitched in a Lumbee Regalia. This doll in the photo doesn’t have hair because she has been through chemo, but Mrs. Sheila stitched her a bow since her hair is coming back.
