The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) made $14 million in state funds available to residents of North Carolina whose homes experienced damage during Hurricane Matthew. This funding is called Essential Single Family Rehabilitation Program for Disaster Recovery. The Lumbee Tribe will begin applications on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 8:00am until Friday, October 20, 2017 at 5:00pm. The loans are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a forgivable loan and applicants will not be required to make payments on the loan as long as they reside in the home. The loans can cover damages up to $40,000 and are forgiven at a rate of $5,000.00 per year. For any questions or concerns please contact Nichole Dial at 910-522-2212.
