Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

The Lumbee Tribe has an employment opportunity for a Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. The Rehabilitation Counselor of the VRH Program will provide one on one vocational rehabilitation services to eligible Lumbee tribal members. The VR Counselor will conduct the intake process, develop Individualized Plans for Employment, and provide vocational counseling as needed to promote employment/vocational independence for eligible tribal members.

Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work/Sociology or related field and at least 7-10 years of experience in Rehabilitation Counseling, social work, or related area with demonstrated level II counseling experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates that possess certification as a rehabilitation counselor through the CRCC. Qualified candidates should also possess documented professional counseling experience with the ability to relate to diverse populations, and positive working relations with both internal and external agencies and programs. Knowledge of federal laws governing the delivery of American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation Services is desirable. Qualified candidates must possess excellent communication skills, computer skills, and organizational skills.  Must have a valid NC driver’s license and transportation and be willing to work evenings and travel throughout the service area of Robeson, Hoke, Scotland and Cumberland Counties.

The Lumbee Tribe has an employment opportunity for a Financial Auditor in the Finance Department.  The Financial Auditor will examine and analyze accounting records to determine financial status of tribal programs and prepare financial reports concerning operating procedures. Will review data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures and develop processes and procedures to keep all tribal programs in good standing. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 7-10 years experience in auditing accounting and federal finance experience is required. Qualified candidates should possess a prior knowledge of the federal regulations and guidelines on finance, corporate finance, and source funding processes. A valid NC Drivers License is required.

Outreach Case Specialist in Department of Energy

The Lumbee Tribe has an employment opportunity for an Outreach/Intake Specialist in Department of Energy.  The Department of Energy Outreach/Intake Specialist will be responsible for taking applications and advising applicants on available LIEAP and services, the application process, referrals to other tribal and existing programs for services and assistance while coordinating activities with existing community-based programs, agencies and organizations. A two-year degree in social work, psychology, education or a related field and two years successful experience in related areas is preferred.  A high school diploma and a minimum of five years successful experience in tribal programs, community based programs or educational outreach working with the public, equivalent to the above qualifications will be considered.  Applicants must possess good communication skills, the ability to relate to diverse populations, and possess general office and clerical skills.  Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to perform outreach and intake responsibilities in Robeson, Hoke and Scotland Counties.

The Lumbee Tribe has an employment opportunity for the Unit Coordinator with the Lumbee Tribe Boys and Girls Club of Back Swamp/Hilly Branch.  The Unit Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities for club members.  Qualified applicants will be expected to possess a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Science or other related field and 2 – 3 years experience in tribal, social and community – based youth services or equivalent experience and education is required.   Applicants must possess good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to relate to youth and youth related activities. A valid NC Drivers License is required.

The Accounting Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for all data entry support functions as well as other assigned duties and responsibilities to the Finance Department. Associate’s degree in business, accounting, computer science/ technology program and two years successful experience in office/data entry duties and responsibilities is required.  Technology skills, competencies and proficiencies with Excel, Word and various accounting software, is desired. JobsNOW will help get our economy back on track and lay the foundation for a strong and sustainable economic future,” said Gov. Perdue. “The JobsNOW Portal will be a valuable tool for job seekers and businesses looking to expand or relocate.”

The JobsNOW Portal is part of an initiative, which brings together state agencies, local governments, business leaders and citizens to create new jobs, put people back to work and train and retrain our workers for success.
